ARCHITECT
Alina Orfanou is an accomplished architect with a diverse range of experiences and expertise. She graduated from the Department of Architecture at the Polytechnic School of the University of Thessaly in 2011, earning a bachelor’s degree with an outstanding grade of 9.1. Her academic achievements include the publication of her thesis, titled “Embedded Cities,” which was recognized in the shortlist of the esteemed annual competition organized by Greek Architects magazine.
Throughout her career, Alina has actively participated in and received accolades in both national and international architectural competitions. Notably, in 2008, she was honored with a Special Mention from Greek Architects magazine for her exceptional contribution to the international competition focused on the redevelopment of the rear facades of preserved buildings in proximity to the new Acropolis Museum.
In 2018, Alina further expanded her knowledge and skills by completing a postgraduate program in Cognitive Science at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. This dynamic interdisciplinary field of study delves into the exploration of cognition and cognitive phenomena. Alina’s deep understanding of the functioning of the human brain, in conjunction with the body, forms the foundation of her human-centric approach to architectural design. Her expertise encompasses the intricacies of inhabitation experiences, spatial perception, memory, and the overall integration of architecture within its context.
