APPARTMENT IN KIFISSIA
APPARTMENT IN KIFISSIA
This project is about the total remodelling, reconstruction and an impressive energy transformation of a 60 sq.m. apartment on the second floor of a residential building in Kifisia. Originally built in the 70s, this space was characterized by smaller, separated areas that followed the architectural style of the time.
Our visionary project aimed to create a remarkable change by opening up the space into a spacious, L-shaped layout, seamlessly connecting the living room, dining room, and kitchen. Additionally, we envisioned a private bedroom with a walk-in closet and a second exclusive access to the bathroom. While our initial plan intended to relocate the bathroom to optimize the layout, technical constraints prevented us from doing so.
However, we successfully eliminated most internal walls and switched the positions of the living room and bedroom. The result was a transformed T-shaped space that brings the living room closer to the kitchen, creating an open and luminous ambiance perfect for contemporary living. To welcome the inhabitant in style, we even reversed the main door to provide an inviting view upon entry. The main internal wall we built to divide the bedroom from the living room showcases two captivating opposite curves. These curves not only enhance the flow between the areas but also ensure the integrity of the existing openings.
Furthermore, a significant energy upgrade was carried out, by installing energy-efficient aluminum frames with triple-glazed windows, a state-of-the-art solar water heater, a highly efficient natural gas boiler, top-quality thermal insulation, and automation systems. Overcoming technical challenges, our team of experts, in colla-boration with the client, achieved utmost satisfaction by finding the optimal solution that perfectly balanced functionality and aesthetics within the given parameters.
